    Staff thoughts...
Thank you for your continued support of colleagues who lost a loved one at the end of 2021.  We continue to send thoughts to Evan G. in the loss of his grandfatherLindsey K. in the loss of her grandmotherMelinda M. in the loss of her mother, and any others that I may have inadvertently missed.

    i-Ready Diagnostic

January brings the second window for administering our second round of the iReady Diagnostic with students.  This window goes through January 28th.  As we learned earlier in the week, there are always potential conflicts with individual or class quarantines, so it would be best to start later this week which will allow you plenty of time for students to finish up during independent work time if necessary.  Please don't wait until the last week or two of the window to start.  Thank you!

Since this is the second window and the second year of iReady, there may not be as much need for introduction to new things, however reminders and reteaching are certainly beneficial in setting them up for success.  And as always, motivating students to put forth their best effort.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if you'd like to arrange for me to be in your classroom during this second go at the diagnostic.  Always keep an eye on email for updates and tips.

          FAREWELL and WELCOME

Great educators always make a difference!  In her short time in our building, Beth M. has made a difference here!  Beth and her significant other, Collin, are off to new ventures in Arizona as Collin received a promotion. Beth you’re going to be excellent at your new teaching position! We will miss you and wish you well!!!!

A big welcome and congratulations go out to Jennifer Steinacker who will become part of our team for the 21-22 school year (pending Board approval on Monday)! We are delighted and excited about working with you!!!!

          PENNY WAR BEGINS THIS WEEK!

Next week, the Cougar Council will be kicking off a school wide

fundraiser for SOAR Fox Cities!  One of the main reasons the

Cougar Council chose this fundraiser is because we know there

are people with special needs in our school and community that

can benefit from this program. The money raised for SOAR

will go toward funding summer camps, day trips, Kidz Klub

programming and any other needs they may have.

We will be doing this fundraiser Dec. 13th through Dec. 17th.

For our fundraiser, we will be doing a Penny Challenge.

It’s a friendly competition among different grade levels

to raise funds for SOAR Fox Cities. The goal of the Penny Challenge

is to raise money by collecting as many NON-PENNIES (positive points) as

possible in your grade level jar and putting as many PENNIES

(negative points) in everyone else’s jars.

Silver coins and dollars can be used to

increase money totals for your grade and pennies

will subtract amounts from other grades.

However, ALL the money will be donated to benefit those with

          special needs and their families.

          Save those coins CARING COUGARS…
Thank you for your help in supporting this cause!

          The Cougar Council

          Holidays!

Thanks so much for being respectful of all students and their families as you have planned for the holidays.  It’s obvious that students enjoy these times of the year, as well as, the exposure to the diversity that our world brings.

For me holiday season brings thoughts of joy and gratitude, and it gives yet another time to express thanks and sincere appreciation for your amazing hard work, care, creativity, and dedication. Whatever you plan to do, and wherever you plan to be, I wish each one of you a happy and safe holiday season. Breathe, rest, rejuvenate, restore...   Wishing you well! - Stacy K.
